Brown Sugar Pineapple Ham Bake

Ingredients

→ Main Players

 3 cups cooked ham, diced

1 can (20 oz) pineapple chunks, drained (save ¼ cup juice)

→ Sweet and Tangy Glaze

 ½ cup brown sugar

2 tablespoons Dijon or yellow mustard

 1 tablespoon soy sauce

 ¼ cup reserved pineapple juice

¼ teaspoon ground cloves (optional but so good!)

 Salt and pepper to taste

Steps

Preheat your oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. A little cooking spray or butter makes cleanup so much easier later!

In a medium bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, mustard, soy sauce, that reserved pineapple juice, and ground cloves if you’re using them. Mix until it’s smooth and glossy – this is where the magic happens!

Add your diced ham and pineapple chunks to the baking dish, then pour that beautiful glaze right over the top. Give everything a gentle stir to make sure every piece gets coated in that sweet and tangy goodness.

Pop it in the oven uncovered and bake for 30-35 minutes. You’ll know it’s ready when the ham is heated through and the edges are getting nicely caramelized and golden brown.

Serve this beauty over warm rice for a complete meal, or pair it with roasted veggies or a fresh salad. Either way, get ready for some seriously happy taste buds!

Tips

  1. This dish is the perfect balance of sweet and savory – the brown sugar and pineapple bring sweetness while the mustard and soy sauce add that tangy, umami kick!
  2. Great for using up leftover ham from holidays, but deli ham works perfectly too. It’s one of those versatile dishes that always hits the spot.
  3. The ground cloves are optional but they add such a warm, cozy spice note that really elevates the whole dish.
