Spanish Rice for a BBQ

Ingredients (Serves ~6–8)
3 cups long-grain rice
¼ cup oil (adjust to preference)
2 garlic cloves, lightly crushed
Chopped onion (optional, for added flavor)
Knorr tomato seasoning and chicken bouillon—adjust to taste
¼ tsp granulated garlic (for extra aroma)
6 cups very hot water
6 sprigs fresh cilantro
Directions

  1. Brown the RiceIn a large pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add garlic (and onion, if using), then add rice. Stir and toast until rice turns golden—this enhances flavor and texture.
  2. Add the Broth & SeasoningsPour in very hot water, then sprinkle in Knorr tomato and chicken seasoning, plus granulated garlic. Stir gently to combine.
  3. Simmer to PerfectionBring the mixture to a rolling boil. Add cilantro sprigs on top. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook undisturbed for 25 minutes—no stirring or lifting the lid.
  4. Fluff & ServeOnce cooked, remove from heat and discard cilantro sprigs. Fluff the rice gently with a fork. Serve warm alongside your favorite BBQ fare.
