Texas Toast Pizza in the Air Fryer

Ingredients
8 slices Texas Toast Garlic Bread
1/2 cup pizza sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
80 mini pepperoni slices
Method

Prepare the Air Fryer Basket
Begin by arranging half of the Texas toast slices in a single layer in your air fryer basket. For easier cleanup, you can line the basket with parchment paper or foil, being careful not to block air circulation.
Initial Toasting
Air fry the Texas toast at 360°F (182°C) for 3 minutes. This initial toasting will create a sturdy base for your toppings while maintaining the garlic flavor of the bread.
Add Pizza Sauce
Once the bread is lightly toasted, remove the basket and spread 1-2 spoonfuls of pizza sauce evenly across each slice. Be careful not to add too much sauce, which could make the toast soggy.
Add Cheese and Pepperoni
Top each slice with approximately 1/4 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese, distributing it evenly. Then place 10 mini pepperoni slices on each piece, arranging them for even coverage.
First Melting Stage
Lower the air fryer temperature to 300°F (149°C) and cook for an additional 3 minutes. This gentler heat allows the cheese to melt without burning.
Final Crisping
Increase the temperature to 400°F (204°C) and air fry for a final 2 minutes. This higher heat will create that perfect bubbly, slightly browned cheese and crisp up the pepperoni edges.
Repeat Process
Remove the finished mini pizzas from the air fryer and repeat the entire process with the remaining slices and toppings.
Serve
Serve your Texas toast pizzas immediately while they’re still hot and the cheese is perfectly melted. These make an excellent quick dinner, after-school snack, or game day appetizer.

Notes

For variety, try adding other toppings like diced bell peppers, onions, olives, or Italian sausage.
If you prefer a less garlicky flavor, you can use regular Texas toast.
Don’t skip the temperature adjustments during cooking – this technique ensures properly melted cheese without burning the bread.
These mini pizzas reheat well in the air fryer for 1-2 minutes at 350°F.
For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes or use spicy pepperoni.
